Hey Sugas!!! March 2018, the folk-rock group, The Decemberists released Rusalka, Rusalka/Wild Rushes on their I’ll Be Your Girl album. According to Slavic mythology, before the 19th century, Rusalka was a female water nymph or spirit, having ties to fertility and not seen as evil. However, the 19th century version depicts a rusalka as an unquiet, dangerous being who is no longer alive and associated with the unclean spirit. She’s no Little Mermaid, that’s for sure.
Today I have the 5 piece collection, River Bride by Pahlish inspired by the song. But the fun doesn’t stop there, Pahlish is also releasing two gorgeous blue shades that didn’t quite make it into the Wizarding World Pt. 2 releases!
*All swatches are done using liquid latex peel off base coat, glossy, QDTC and matte topcoat. Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

Pahlish – River Bride Collection & Midnight Duo
Overall: I am head over heels in love with the crushed gold flakes that are extremely present in the River Bride Collection. No fishing involved, in fact they all but jump out of the bottle and on to nail. I adore the 5 soft shades featured in the palate for this collection and they all apply without issue. I was very sad when I had to take off Thestral… insert sad face here. The ocean blue is so bold, I can definitely see myself reaching for it often. The glow in Luna from the shifting shimmer is mesmerizing, you can’t help but want to stare at it all day long.
