My day started at 5 am! But it wasn’t just one of those awful, wake up and go to work mornings when I would normally moan and groan all the way to my desk. It was POLISH CON DAY!!! I literally jumped out of the bed, ran to the shower and was ready to walk out of the door in 25 mins….that’s a personal best for me. I was like a kid on Christmas morning!
I could smell the polish in the air. I had been looking forward to since the NY location was announced in January. It was the day when I was to unite with my fellow polish sisters and enjoy the creations of the indie polish makers. Nothing could go wrong that day!
Although I wasn’t looking forward to the 4.5 hour drive, my friend Yvette of Yvyvernis made it all better as we were able to chat about polish. Jason is a good sport and all, but I swear sometimes he tunes me out.
White Plains bound and ready to get the show on the road!!
As we entered the main ballroom of the Crowne Plaza were Polish Con was being held, it was like entering… paradise. A smile came over me that I swear could be seen in outer space. I squealed like a 13 year old girl being asked to the school dance.

Jason and I put our stuff down and received our marching orders from Mariah whose table we were helping at and then we had some time to tour the room and do a little shpping… while it was still quite. Some of the vendors were already hard at work and others were done!
Not too long after, there was a vendor meeting led by Miranda
Shhhhhhh……. TOP SECRET!!!
Allow me to present your

Here what some of the attendees and vendors said about Polish Con NY 2018
“The experience of it all is hard to describe! Not only was the convention itself epic but being able to connect with so many makers, bloggers/swatchers and fellow polish lovers was amazing! So many kind hearted people in one place. This was my first polish convention and it was better then I ever could have imagined! Everyone was so accepting of each other, so many hugs given and photos taken! Just something you can’t describe unless you experience it first hand! I am so grateful to have been a part of it!” ~Cheyenne B – Swatcher/Blogger: CDBNails
“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️” Faith J. – Nail Artist: Endless Shades
“It was my first time and I loved it. I wasn’t expecting so many polishes from so many vendors but everyone was really nice and paying was really easy (though I did use cash only). I was a bit bummed that there were no stamping plates or accessories, but that was really my only negative” ~Alana R.
“…can I give it 10 stars?? I LOVED it. Thought it was very well organized, everyone was so friendly and helpful, I liked how all the makers had their polishes displayed, I liked the set up in the room – plenty of room to maneuver and still see everything. I got the VIP bag – and highly recommend it! Nice surprises in that bag! I was also very impressed with the surprise free box lunch – it was delicious and unexpected! Everyone involved did a great job, IMO. I’ll do it again!! Yup – definitely 10 stars!!” ~Shelly B.
“We all had so much fun and I loved finally getting to meet all my polish pals. 😊 Everything seemed to run very smoothly and Miranda did a great job organizing it, I didn’t have a single problem or worry. The only thing I wish we could have done is spend more time with the friends we’ve made over the years and it’s difficult to do if your running the table. Maybe we can add a meet and greet night?” ~Lisette Valence-Jeffers – Owner/Creator: Inspurrration Nail Polish
“I think it was great!! Definitely a lot less overwhelming than last year. I loved the venue, the lunches, it was very handicap accessible as I saw some people needed it to be, it was very organized and Miranda was so very helpful to me with my issues for my tutorial even though she was so busy having to run the event. All in all, I loved it and I think it was well planned.” ~Xenia T. – Swatcher: Amazon_Queen 82
“Polish Con was an awesome experience. I got to meet the creators of various polish companies along with many amazing swatchers. Everyone was super friendly and they all represented the Instagram and Facebook nail art community so well. I would definitely recommend going to PolishCon!” ~Hannah – Swatcher: Hannah_Banana_Nails_
“I didn’t know what to expect, I went it hoping for the best. I enjoyed it, it was great getting to meet nail girls, swatchers, cat lovers face to face. I had fun. I really hope to continue it throughout the years! 😃” ~Mohrayma – Owner/Creator: Sassy Cat Lacquer
“That was my 2nd one. I’ve been reflecting – comparing it to last year. My favorite part is the opportunity to put faces to names & replace emojis with hugs. My mom was so impressed with how nice everyone was the entire time. We have a real community of people who not only love nail polish but love growing the relationships which I hope last for years to come” ~Sham – Owner/Creator: Flirtin’ Cosmetics
“This is my 2nd time attending Polish Con. I anticipated a chaotic check in process and vendor stations being overcrowded by eager polish lovers marveled by the beauties on display. What I experienced was the complete opposite. It was a smooth check-in process and a very relaxed atmosphere. Polish lovers wore their best manis and holographic shirts and complemented each other as they visited each vendor station. It was a fun environment to meet other polish lovers we have gotten to know only by profile pictures and online handles. I will be back for sure.”
“I was ecstatic when Miranda informed me that I had been selected to host an Advanced Stamping Workshop at the Polish Con. I have been doing my own nail art since Middle School and fell in love with Nail Stamping a few years ago.
In the workshop I covered reverse stamping, decals, double stamping and gradient stamping. I gave my tips and tricks from how to make your mani last to a full proof way of nailing your reverse stamping every time. I enjoyed seeing an attendee smile as she reversed stamped perfectly for the first time. Being able to share my tips and see it flourish at that very moment made it all worth it for me. This experience has encouraged me to share my passion with others and go beyond just posting my nail art photos. I hope to start doing nail stamping tutorials on instagram and youtube very soon” ~Cindy – Nail Artist: Cindy_MsFab
In closing, even today I am still reveling in the excitement of the day. An amazing show was put on and my kudos to all those that assisted in some way, shape or form. Special shout out to Miranda of Ever After for an amazing event and thank you to the Crown Plaza for enduring our crazy indie community…lol.
Until next time…..
