***PRESS (PR) SAMPLE NOTICE ***
The Exclusives and LEs for Polish Con Chicago just keep coming! Today I have a brand that recently made its first appearance in the Queendom, Scofflaw Nail Varnish. I reviewed Charlotte Spinning in the Stars during week 6 of the RTPC series.
So why don’t you say, for the sake of doing things a little backwards, let’s find out more about this brand and the maker.
Up off, I had to do a little research to understand the brand name, that took me to the dictionary. According to dictionary.com, Scofflaw is defines as
- a person who flouts the law, especially one who fails to pay fines owed.
- a person who flouts rules, conventions, or accepted practices.
and Scoff meaning,
- an expression of mockery, derision, doubt, or derisive scorn; jeer.
The term Scofflaw was coined during the Prohibition era and was in reference to speakeasy patrons.
Scofflaw Nail Varnish is a small indie brand of offbeat nail polish. created by Finch Liz Grace. All polish is toluene, formaldehyde, and DBP free and uses only high quality cosmetic-grade glitters and pigments.
Ok, so I hope that answers some questions and sheds some light on this amazing brand. So let’s finally take a look at the 2 amazing PC Exclusives!
**All swatches are done using liquid latex peel off base coat, glossy, QDTC and matte topcoat. Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**
A Hocus Pocus themed black jelly filled with bright purple flecks, shimmer and glitters in various shades of purple and gunmetal
I absolutely adore the purple and gunmetal glitters in this polish and normally I don’t gravitate to glitters. Don’t get me wrong, they are so pretty but not something I’d usually pick up. These….these change all that for me. I think purple and grey are a delightful combination and this polish is worth painting all 10 fingers for. No application issues. Formula is smooth and easy to work with. Swatch is shown in 3 thin coats.
A slate colored crème polish with rose-gold flakes and a violet-blue shimmer
Grey polish never looked so amazing. I can’t put my finger on whether it’s the shimmer or the flakes that I love the most. Or perhaps its the silky crème base? I don’t know and honestly…. I really don’t care! This polish is stunning and a must! Swatch shown in 3 easy coats.
