Swatch & Review: Anchor & Heart – Message in a Bottle Series

Hey guys and gals! Every now and then we need an encouraging word to help us make it through the week, a day, or just an hour and the theme behind this series of polish is meant to do just that. With the month I’ve been having as the summer is winding down and as I get closer to my kids going back to school, sweet reminders of “You’ve Got This” and “Stronger Than Yesterday” put as smile on my face as I was swatching these polishes.

Today I have Anchor & Heart Lacquer’s 2017 “Message In a Bottle” collection. This monthly series of polishes promotes an empowering message of love, confidence, and self acceptance! It’s like getting a high five from the bottom of your nail polish bottle! Another great thing is these beauties are available for ALL of 2017, not just the month that they are released! January-August polishes are all available now!

**All swatches are done using Commitment Issue Peel-off Base Coat by Vapid and Tonic Topper by Tonic (shiny) and Matte Me topcoat by Jior Couture (matte). Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

You’ve Got This! ($11)

A pink-toned nude polish with orange/lilac/blue shifting shimmer, pink holo micro glitter, and violet/pink/gold shifting UCC flakies. (January)

You Are Enough ($11)

A dark pink jelly based holo with shimmering pink/orange glass flecks and UCC flakies that shift green/blue/purple. (February)

Beauty Does Not Define You ($10)

A murky olive green with pink/orange shifting shimmer and micro flakies. (March)

Take the First Step Today ($10)

A beautiful dark teal creme base with scattered holo and aqua-pink-purple shifting shimmer. (April)

 Recognize Happiness ($10)

A “blurple” jelly base with gold micro shreds, blue shimmer, color shifting iridescent glitter, and violet holo micro glitter. Dries slightly textured so top coat recommended for shiny finish. (May)

Say Yes To You ($11)

A lavender linear holo polish with a crelly style formula (not completely opaque but not sheer) that features a soft blue shimmer and tiny silver glitter.  (June)

Stronger Than Yesterday ($11)

A very dark gray linear holo polish with a strong blue shimmer and a scattering of holo micro flakies. Dries smooth. (July)

 Sparkle On, Darling ($11)

A murky teal/blue color and has a jelly style formula. It features various iridescent glitters, micro flakies, and UCC flakies, but still lays mostly flat on the nail. One generous coat of topcoat should even out any bumps. (August)

Overall Thoughts – Anchor & Heart – Message in a Bottle Series

Formula / Application: Although all the polishes have different formulas and finishes, I had no issues with application. Dry time was normal, no dragging, or obnoxious glitters to contend with. I was very impressed with the coverage of the polishes and how well the covered in 2-3 coats.

Opacity: 2-3 coats for complete opacity

Price: see above

Availability: current

Overall: Again, we all need a little pick me up now and then, so why not let your polish help you with that. With this polishes you’ll be reaching for them often than not just for that inspiration.
