Swatch & Review: Great Lakes Lacquer – Indie Expo And June Limited Editions

***PRESS (PR) SAMPLE NOTICE ***

Hey guys, hope your Monday is off to a fantastic start! Just to bring you up to speed, there are a lot of changes coming to the Queendom in the next month or so and I am super excited for them. I took last week off to relax and start preparing, and now I’m back and with a vengeance!

Before I get into today’s S&R, I want to take a moment to thank everyone for the outpouring of birthday and Mother’s Day wishes and blessings, it truly meant a lot to me and I give it all right back!

Unless you’ve been under a rock, I’m sure by now you’ve heard of or read about Polish Con and Indie Shop which are U.S. based events for indie polish makers to sell polishes. As I’m sure you imagined, it was only a matter of time before this type of event spread to other countries, yep you guessed it, Canada 🇨🇦 is getting in on the action too. Indie Expo Canada is hosting its inaugural event June 3rd-4th 2017 in Toronto. This 2 day event is “Canada’s premier event for small businesses in the beauty industry. Experience the ultimate in independent beauty brands under one roof. Indie nail polish, cosmetics, skin care, bath & body, and more. Mingle with the brands you love. Browse their products in person. Take part in workshops, demos, meet and greets, and Q&A sessions with top bloggers and Youtube vloggers, and participate in nail art competitions.”

Please join the Facebook Group and Instagram to keep up on developments and announcements and to chat with other fans about our Indie addiction.

So it seems as though Mariah has been hard working in the lab doing what she does best…making magic! Today’s swatch and review features the fruits of her labor created for Indie Expo and June Monthly Limited Editions.

Let’s take a look 👀!

**All swatches are done using Commitment Issue Peel-off Base Coat by Vapid and Tonic Topper by Tonic (shiny) and Matte Me topcoat by Jior Couture (matte). Swatch photos are taken using artificial lights.**

Indie Expo

The Jewel of Ontario (LE) – $12 USD/$16 CAD

A rich blue based multichrome linear holo that shifts from emerald green to sapphire blue

All The Beautiful People (LE) – $10 USD/$14 CAD

A rich pink leaning orchid with orange/gold sheen

Indie-cent Exposure (Exclusive) – $12 USD/$16 CAD

A dark blurple (cold) to taupe (warm) thermal filled with a purple to orange shifting sheen and scattered holo

June Limited Editions

Wandering NYC In A Coral Coat

A hot pink leaning coral with blue sheen and shimmer

I Miss Grass

A grassy green with gold, green, and aqua shimmer

Overall Thoughts

Formula / Application: I Miss Grass had a minor issue of fallout aka shrinkage of shimmer during swatch process. Mariah as been notified/made aware and the release batches have been fixed so there are more blue sparks. Other than that, stellar formula and application.

Opacity: 2-3 coats

Overall: How’s that for stunning polish?! In true GLL fashion, Mariah created 5 gorgeous polishes. If you haven’t already guessed, you need them.
